New Post: How do I get the latest source code?

Hello everyone,

I downloaded and installed this tool and also downloaded the source code for this tool.
I noticed that the source code is not latest, it seems the tool has been updated but the downloaded source code still points to the old code.

For example, the tool displays the test plans/suites as a tree structure. As per the source code, they should be listed on two different drop down lists.

How do I get the latest source code for this tool?

Besides I can't see Test cases in Tree view which are connected to Requirement .

do you have solution to these two problem?

i'm not sure it would require someone closely involved with this tool's sources and any current updates in progress to comment on that. until we get a status update from them it would appear that this tool currently requires vs10 team explorer and excel10 installs to work, e.g. can’t currently use it on system with vs12 team explorer and excel13.

Hi robertob,

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any other way like editing the config file to use vs12 rather then downgrading to VS10. I think it's not possible to downgrade entire office system to use VS10.

Do you have any idea on when is the next release that is compatible to VS12?

The fix for me was to run the tool on a system that has vs10sp1 installed as the current release appears to be hard wired to use vs10sp1 provided team explorer 2010 object model and not the vs12 provided team explorer 2012 object model.

Long term it would be great to get an updated drop that works with vs12 provided team explorer 2012 object model.

i'm wondering if this issue is less about the os version and more to do with it requiring the team explorer 2010 bits that are included as part of vs12sp1 ultimate versus being able to use team explorer 2012 bits that are included as part of vs12 ultimate. thoughts?

it appears this arises from not having excel installed as I added excel 2010 to the system in question and the error went away.

q1 - does this utility require excel x86 or should it work fine with excel x64 installed?

q2 - does this utility require excel 2010 or should it work fine with excel 2013 customer preview installed?

I'm getting the following unexpected error when i click Export.

Error | Retrieving the COM class Factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)), Error occured while saving excel File. Please contact your System Administrator. | [ OK ]

Is this an already known issue with a known fix?

When I launch "Test Case Export to Excel" and select connect to tfs... | <add + pick server> | <pick collection> | <pick project> | connect it generates a dialog containing:

Error | Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Application has encountered Fatal Error. Please contact your System Administrator. | [ OK ]

This occurs when I install and run tool on a clean win8x64/vs12 system setup. This does not occur when I install and run tool on a w08r2x64/vs10sp1 system setup.

Is this an already known issue with a known fix?

Thanks! I'm not actually in need of this tool any longer, so haven't been using it much. When I have time, perhaps I'll get back to it :)

I have been using this for about a week, and have come to the conclusion there are a couple of things that would make this tool a bit better to use.

1. In the selection window, clarify which are actually test cases that can be exported. It sometimes shows a path that doesn't have anything that gets exported.

2. Allow it to select only one, or a few test cases from different locations. Not just export a particular tree.

When I open the export UI and connect, I only see down to the Project level. If I select a project, it does not show the suites associated with it. Any ideas?

Hi, I am using the tool but the generated file shows empty the description (I am assuming that it is area text in the summary tab), if it is not the description, what is the description field in Test Manager?

I resolved the test cases issue: this tool only export test case which has steps

I want to ask about: Input Data, Actual Result, Pass/Fail, Comments

When using ETCFTFS only some test cases in my suite is exported, I tried many times but the result is always the same

Do you have any filter on this?

Another thing, I don't see Pass/Fail result exported. How can I export test result to my report?
